Can Google Tasks sync with Apple Reminders?
No. Apple's Reminders app can't sync with Google Tasks. Your Google account brings mail, contacts, calendars and notes to Apple devices, but Google doesn't share tasks in the format Reminders reads. To use both, you need a third-party sync app, or you pick one of the two and use it everywhere.

Why they don’t sync
Apple’s Reminders app shows reminders from every account in Internet Accounts that offers them, such as iCloud and Exchange. Google offers its calendars to Apple devices through a standard calendar service (CalDAV), but that service doesn’t carry tasks, and Google Tasks is reachable only through Google’s own Tasks API. So when you add a Google account to your iPhone or Mac, you get mail, contacts, calendars and notes, and there’s no Reminders switch.
Your options
| How it works | Keeps both in step | Cost | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Choose Google Tasks everywhere | Google Tasks app on iPhone; tasks.google.com, Gmail or a Mac app on the Mac | Nothing to sync | Free |
| Choose Apple Reminders everywhere | Reminders on iPhone and Mac; iCloud.com on other computers | Nothing to sync | Free |
| A sync app such as ReminderBridge | A Mac app that copies tasks between the two while it runs | Titles, notes, due dates and completion | Paid |
| An automation such as IFTTT | Copies new items from one to the other | One way, for new items only | Free and paid plans |
Syncing apps have limits
A sync tool can carry only what both apps share with other software: the title, notes, due date and whether a task is done. Google’s Tasks API keeps due dates without times, and Apple’s interface for apps doesn’t expose subtasks, flags or tags, so due times, priorities, flags, tags, repeats, location alerts and subtasks are lost on the way. A sync that runs on your Mac also works only while the Mac is on, so a change on your phone waits until then.
Picking one
If your tasks come from Gmail, Google Calendar or an Android phone, or you work on Windows too, Google Tasks is the one that follows you everywhere. On a Mac, you can keep it in view with the ways in the Mac guide. If everything you own is Apple, Reminders is built in and works with Siri.
Questions
Can I sync Google Tasks with Apple Reminders?
Not directly. Reminders gets tasks from accounts that offer them, and Google doesn't offer its tasks to other apps that way: its calendar service for Apple devices doesn't carry tasks. Third-party apps such as ReminderBridge can copy tasks between the two.
Why doesn't my Google account show Reminders on my iPhone or Mac?
Because Google doesn't provide reminders for it. Apple lists Reminders for an account only when the provider supports it, and Google's service for Apple devices supports calendars but not tasks.
Should I use Google Tasks or Apple Reminders?
Use Google Tasks if you live in Gmail and Google Calendar or use Android or Windows as well; tasks you make from emails and calendar events land there. Use Apple Reminders if you only use Apple devices and want Siri, location reminders and shared lists with other Apple users.
Can Siri add tasks to Google Tasks?
Siri's "remind me" requests go to Apple Reminders. To add to Google Tasks by voice, use Google Assistant or the Google Tasks app.
