Google Tasks, in your AI apps.
Sidekick for AI is an MCP server for Google Tasks™
Connect your Google Tasks to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other AI apps. Ask them what's overdue, clear out duplicates or plan your week, and every change lands in the Google Tasks you use on your phone, in Gmail and in Sidekick on your Mac.
Ask for what you'd ask a person.
Your AI app reads your lists, works out the answer and makes the change. These are examples.
What's overdue, and what can wait?
Add "Book the car service" for next Tuesday, in my Home list.
Plan my week from what's due.
Find my duplicates and clear them out.
What it does, and what it won't.
Google Tasks has no bin, so nothing is deleted until you say yes.
Ask in plain words
Search, add, tick off, reopen and move tasks.

Claude
Claude on the web, the desktop app and the mobile app.

On Team and Enterprise plans an owner adds the connector in Admin settings first. Claude's plans decide how many custom connectors you can add.

Questions
What is MCP?
The Model Context Protocol, an open standard that lets AI apps such as Claude and ChatGPT use outside tools. Sidekick for AI is an MCP server: once you connect it, your AI app can read and change your Google Tasks when you ask it to.
Is Sidekick for AI made by Google?
No. It's made by the same independent developer as Sidekick for Mac, and it uses Google's official Tasks API. You sign in on Google's own page, so it never sees your Google password.
Do I need the Mac app?
No. Sidekick for AI runs on the web and works on its own, wherever you use your AI app. One Premium covers both, if you use both.
Which AI apps does it work with?
Any app that can connect to a remote MCP server with a sign-in, such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude Code and VS Code. Some AI apps only allow custom connectors on certain plans; the setup guides say which.
Can the AI delete my tasks without asking?
No. Every delete starts with a preview of exactly which tasks would go and which are kept, and nothing is deleted until you approve it. Google Tasks has no bin, so deleted tasks can't be recovered.
Does it work with a work account?
Yes, with Google Workspace accounts where your administrator allows third-party apps to use Google Tasks.
When can I use it?
Sidekick for AI launches together with Sidekick for Mac. Both are coming soon.
