Sidekick for AI
Sidekick for AI is an MCP server for Google Tasks. Connect it to an AI app such as Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor, sign in with Google, and the app can read and change your Google Tasks when you ask it to.
Sidekick for AI is coming soon, with Sidekick for Mac. These pages describe how it works at launch.
What you can ask
Anything you’d ask someone looking at your list. For example:
- “What’s overdue, and what can wait?”
- “Find the duplicates in my lists and clear them out.”
- “Plan my week from what’s due.”
- “Add Book the car service for next Tuesday, in my Home list.”
The AI app works out what to do and uses Sidekick for AI’s tools to do it. Every change lands in your Google Tasks, so you see it on your phone, in Gmail and in Google Calendar too.
What you need
- A Google account with Google Tasks. Personal accounts and Google Workspace accounts both work, where your administrator allows it.
- An AI app that connects to remote MCP servers, such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude Code or VS Code. Some apps only allow custom connectors on certain plans; each setup guide says what to check: Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other apps.
- No Mac. Sidekick for AI runs on the web. It works on its own, with or without Sidekick for Mac.
How it keeps your tasks safe
- Nothing is deleted without you. Every delete starts with a preview of exactly which tasks would go, and only happens after you approve it. See removing duplicates for how that looks.
- It sees only your tasks. It asks Google for your Google Tasks and your email address, and nothing else.
- Your data stays yours. Your Google sign-in is stored encrypted, task text is never logged or used to train AI, and you can delete your data at any time. See privacy and security.
What it costs
Free to use, with daily limits on deleting, two lists and one Google account. Sidekick Premium lifts those limits and covers Sidekick for Mac too. See plans and limits.
