Accounts and lists

Sidekick shows one mixed stack across your Google accounts, each told apart by its checkbox colour and shape. You choose which Google Tasks lists show, and you can drag tasks out into stacks of their own on any screen.

Sidekick for Mac is coming soon, with Sidekick for AI. These pages describe how it works at launch.

Google accounts

Add another account in Settings › Google Accounts with Add Google Account…. Tasks from every account mix into one stack; each account has its own checkbox colour and shape, such as orange circles and blue squares. In the same place, for each account, you can pick which of its lists show (Lists in Sidekick), choose where new tasks go (New Tasks Go To), rename it or sign out, and with Premium change its Colour or Checkbox Shape.

The free plan has one Google account; more accounts are part of Premium.

Stacks on your screens

Drag a card into empty space and it becomes a new stack, which you can put on any screen. Drag cards between stacks to move them. Merge a stack into another from its ⋯ menu (Merge into), or put everything back into one stack with Merge All in Settings › Stacks.

If a screen is disconnected, its stacks wait and come back when it’s reconnected; Gather Stacks on This Screen in the menu bar menu brings them to the screen you’re on.

The free plan has your main stack and one more; more stacks are part of Premium.

Sort and steps

  • Sort from a stack’s ⋯ menu: your own order, due date, account or title. Choose the same sort again to reverse it.
  • Steps: open a task and type in Add a step, or drop one task onto the middle of another to make it a step. With Premium, Show Steps as Cards in Settings › Appearance shows steps as their own cards.
