Connect to Cursor
In Cursor, add Sidekick for AI as an MCP server with its address in your MCP configuration. Cursor opens a Google sign-in the first time it uses it.
Sidekick for AI is coming soon, with Sidekick for Mac. These pages describe how it works at launch.
Add the server
Open Cursor’s settings, find the MCP section and add a new server, or edit your mcp.json (in your home folder’s .cursor folder, or a project’s) and add Sidekick for AI:
{
"mcpServers": {
"sidekick": {
"url": "https://mcp.heysidekick.app/mcp"
}
}
}
Save, and Cursor lists the server, named sidekick, with its tools. The first time it calls one, your browser opens the sign-in: sign in with your Google account on Google’s page.
Using it
Ask Cursor’s agent about your tasks, for example “Add a task to check the release notes tomorrow.” Cursor asks before it runs a tool, and deletes are previewed before you approve them.
